Bushwacker FAQs: New Fender Flare Applications and Used Flares

Posted On: 2015-08-20

“Do you make fender flares for my vehicle?”

This is one of the most frequently asked questions we get at Bushwacker, and I can attest to getting many of these requests online via our Facebook and Twitter accounts. The short answer to most of these questions is: Check the website.

We make every effort possible to keep the website current, so if it’s not there, then we don’t offer it or we no longer offer it. We are, however, constantly evaluating the market and determining which flares to produce for which vehicles, so be sure to check back regularly to see any newly added applications.

“Will you be making fender flares for my vehicle soon?”

We get questions all the time, especially on social media sites, about whether we’ll be making flares for a specific vehicle. It’s totally understandable. If you’ve got a vehicle and you want flares for it, you’re going to ask if they’re coming down the pipeline. Unfortunately, most of the time we cannot talk about future products until they’re released (with rare exception). There are times where we do not have any plans to offer a specific application and we will tell you that. But just because we don’t currently offer a fender flare for a specific vehicle right now doesn’t mean we’ll never make it. There are many factors that go into whether or not we make products for specific applications including tooling costs, engineering feasibility, production runs, and potential sales. But if you own something obscure, such as a Daihatsu Rocky, I wouldn’t hold your breath …

“I bought a set of used Bushwacker fender flares. Will these fit my vehicle?”

Another question we get regularly is regarding used Bushwacker flares. Maybe you found a set on craigslist or bought some off of a web forum. How do you know they’ll fit your rig?

Before purchasing used flares, ask the seller to provide you with the information from the white quality control (QC) sticker on the flare’s inside surface as well as the moldbase number. The moldbase number is literally a number on the mold itself that is formed into a raised number on the flare, much like a fingerprint. It will be on the inner surface of the flare along the inner edge near the end. With this information, we can then verify for your if these products are the correct parts for your vehicle.
